This was a temporary holding camp set up in late August 1945 for the POWs from Kinkaseki and Kukutsu who were awaiting evacuation by allied forces at the end of the war. It was located on the site of the present Minsheng Jr. High School, Taipei - in what had formerly been an old two-storey factory complex.
On August 28th American B-29's dropped food from a low altitude on the camp and because the 50 gallon drums were too heavy or broke loose from their parachutes, several cannisters went through the roof of the old building and three men were accidentally killed and several others injured.
On September 5th the former Kinkaseki / Kukutsu POWs were evacuated from the camp and taken to Keelung by train where they boarded American destroyer escorts for the journey to aircraft carriers waiting offshore, and from there were transported to Manila for medical examination and care before their return home again.
